All of the records that she had worked so diligently on drowned in my ‘safe keeping’ in Katrina. I felt so guilty. Your story makes me feel better. I’ll now say to my aunt who innocently asks me about the records at least once a year, “At least I didn’t shred them like my friend Ginger!” But, honestly, your journey is freeing me up as I’m trying to decide how to tackle the boxes of my mom and dad’s memorabilia that wasn’t drowned. I can’t keep it all!
